The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has recognized the outstanding performance of two athletes from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Juan Gallego and Ethan Wurtzel have been named the Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for their achievements in men's tennis doubles during the week of February 17 to 23.
Gallego, from Madison, and Wurtzel, from Menomonie, were selected as men's tennis doubles athletes of the week through an anonymous vote by WIAC head coaches. The pair remained undefeated across two duals on February 22. Competing in the No. 1 doubles flight, they secured victories against top pairings from Carleton College (Minnesota) and Luther College (Iowa). They defeated Carleton's Jack Rivkin and Akshay Garapati with a score of 6-2 and later overcame Luther's Luke Westholder and Eli Young with a scoreline of 7-6 (7-1).
