Capri Meyer, a sophomore from Woodbury, Minnesota, has been named UW-Eau Claire Athletics' Blugold of the Week, sponsored by BSN Sports/Nike. She is pursuing a major in chemistry at the university.

Meyer chose UW-Eau Claire because it offered a balance of distance from home and city life that appealed to her. "I chose Eau Claire because it is the perfect distance from home, and I really liked the city. Also, I liked the size of the school and the variety of majors offered, and I knew that Eau Claire was where I wanted to pursue my athletic and academic goals," she explained.

Apart from her athletic commitments, Meyer is involved in several campus organizations. "I am also in the Women in STEM club, the SPS club, and the Women's Club hockey team," she said.

Balancing academics with athletics can be challenging for Meyer. "The hardest part for me about being a student-athlete is time management. I manage my time by keeping track of my day on a digital calendar and writing down my assignments and tasks for classes in a planner," she noted.

Reflecting on her athletic journey at UW-Eau Claire, Meyer expressed pride in her development as an athlete. "I am most proud of myself for the progress that I have made as a walk-on player and for putting myself out there so I could have an opportunity to be a part of such an amazing team."

When asked about her preferences around competitions, Meyer shared her snack choices: "My favorite pre-competition snack is a bagel and a Go-Go squeeze. My favorite post-competition snack is a Fairlife protein shake!"

Meyer also revealed some personal interests outside sports. She mentioned having skills like doing headstands and shared aspirations about combining curiosity with an active lifestyle in her future career.

Traveling to Thailand is among Meyer's dreams if given an opportunity to explore globally. As for spending time with celebrities or athletes, she would choose Guy Fieri: "I would choose to spend the day with Guy Fieri, and I would love to try lots of different foods with him."

Her advice to fellow student-athletes emphasizes self-care: "My advice is to remember to take care of yourself since being a student-athlete can take a lot of energy and hard work. Managing your time and taking time to rest is essential to have the best experience possible."

Michael Rodovi, Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at UW-Eau Claire, praised Meyer's contributions: "Capri puts team first, is always thinking of others and is an excellent teammate. Plus, her off-the-field life is just as solid and her grades are there as well."
