The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team celebrated the opening of their new Sonnentag Fieldhouse with a decisive 21-4 victory over Augustana (Ill.) on Saturday. The Blugolds scored 11 goals in the first quarter, establishing a lead they maintained throughout their home opener.

Ellie Fisher from Stillwater, Minnesota, led the team by scoring seven goals, tying for the second-most goals by a player in a single game in program history. The Blugolds scored three times within the first three minutes and extended their lead to 11-1 by the end of the first quarter.

By halftime, UW-Eau Claire had increased their advantage to 15-3 after adding four more goals in the second quarter. In the third quarter, they held Augustana scoreless while scoring five additional goals themselves. Both teams managed one goal each in the final quarter.

Alexie Romanelli contributed three goals for UW-Eau Claire. Devon Crews, Reegan Werner, and Paige Kiani each recorded four points through two goals and two assists. Samantha Burns, Victoria Shea, and Jess Stiller each added two points.

In goal, Alexandria Shea made six saves to secure the win for UW-Eau Claire. The team was successful on all 19 clear attempts during the match.
