UW-Eau Claire gymnasts break school record against Hamline

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team secured a victory over Hamline with a score of 188.950 to 183.550 at the McPhee Center on Friday. This marked their final home dual of the season, highlighted by setting a new school record on the uneven bars.

In this competition, UW-Eau Claire achieved higher team scores across all four events and claimed victory in three out of four individual events. The team set a program record on the uneven bars with a score of 47.600, surpassing the previous record of 47.250 that had been held for nine years.

Rachel Hettiarachchy led UW-Eau Claire on the uneven bars with a score of 9.650, tying for the third-best score in program history for this event. Cadence Cordova and Brooklyn Einck each scored 9.600, tying for the fifth-highest bars scores in Blugold history.

Cadence Cordova also excelled on the vault, achieving an individual win with a score of 9.550 as part of a team total of 46.625.

On the beam, UW-Eau Claire posted a score of 47.350, with Linnea Vasali leading by scoring 9.625 to win that event.

The team's performance concluded with a floor exercise score of 47.375, where Kelsey Donovan won individually with her score of 9.625.

Following this successful meet, UW-Eau Claire celebrated its seniors.

The Blugolds are set to conclude their regular season with an upcoming visit to UW-Whitewater scheduled for Saturday, March 1st at 4 p.m.
