The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming teams began their participation in the Minnesota First Chance Meet on Friday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. The Blugolds' relay teams performed notably during the first day of competition.
In the women's 400-yard medley relay, Danika Zablocki, Abigail Ellingsberg, Faith Oswald, and Olivia Richetto secured a second-place finish with a time of 4:07.23. On the men's side, Jack MacLeod, Axel Erickson, Matt Craig, and Kenny Cabeen achieved third place in their 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:42.06.
Individually, Faith Oswald placed fifth in the women's 100-yard butterfly event. Jack MacLeod finished eighth in the men's 200-yard individual medley, while William Taylor took eighth place in the men's 500-yard freestyle.
The meet is set to continue on Saturday, February 8th at 11 a.m.
