Blugold volleyball team earns multiple all-conference honors for impressive performances

The Blugold volleyball team has seen multiple players recognized with All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honors for the 2024 season. Two players have been named to the All-WIAC First Team, while two others received honorable mentions. Additionally, Sophia Brown was selected for the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Kaitlyn Erickson, a freshman from Hazel Green, Wisconsin, was awarded the Kwik Trip Newcomer of the Year title. She made an impact in her debut season with 440 digs over 28 games.

Junior Ella Kiebel from Maple Lake, Minnesota, secured a spot on the All-WIAC First Team. As a setter, she contributed significantly to the team's offense with 72 spikes, 164 digs, and 654 sets this season.

Bailey Leeke, another junior from Lakeville, Minnesota, also earned First Team honors. Playing as a right-side hitter, she achieved 288 digs and recorded 378 kills.

Two other Blugolds were acknowledged with honorable mentions. Sophomore Mya Cinnamo from Rosemount, Minnesota made an impact as an outside hitter with 887 total attempts and 314 spikes. Junior Abby Stanwood from Excelsior, Minnesota contributed both offensively and defensively with 229 spikes and 235 digs in her games this season.

Sophia Brown from Colgate, Wisconsin was recognized on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team for her leadership and sportsmanship as a middle blocker throughout the season.

These achievements reflect the teamwork and dedication of the Blugold volleyball team as they prepare to compete in the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament starting November 21st.
