The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's men's and women's swimming and diving teams faced off against St. Cloud State, a Division II school, over the weekend. Despite their efforts, the Blugold men were defeated 179-83, while the women lost 173-89.
In individual events, each team had two winners. Kadin Denner from Aurora, Colorado, claimed victory in the men's 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:02.44. Adam Kamel from Minneapolis finished first in the men's 200-yard backstroke at 1:58.46.
On the women's side, Sydney McGuine from Huntley, Illinois won the 100-yard backstroke in 59.86 seconds. Elaina Plonis from Macomb, Michigan secured first place in the women's 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.74.
Both teams also saw several athletes finishing in second place during various events.
Looking ahead, the Blugolds are set to compete at the Rochester Invite hosted by St. Cloud State from December 5-7 in Rochester, Minnesota.
