FOIA Request to City of Lake Geneva Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Chippewa Valley Times have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records pertaining to new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
As part of our role in disseminating information and holding public institutions accountable, access to these public records is essential. We believe this information will contribute significantly towards providing transparency to the public about the voting process and its outcomes.
We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting. As a media organization, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, hence we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await a positive response from the City of Lake Geneva's office and remain available for any questions or clarifications they may need regarding this request.
