FOIA Request to Town Of Colfax Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Chippewa Valley Times have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As part of our mission to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public, access to these public records is essential. We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of dissemination and analysis.
We believe that as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as per standard media professional rights. We await a response from the Town Of Colfax's clerk office regarding this request.
