Carson Park | UW-Eau Claire Blugolds
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team secured third place at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championships held at the Wisconsin River Golf Club. The Blugolds achieved a total of 79 team points, placing them behind first-place UW-La Crosse and second-place UW-Stout.
Keeley Behr from Aurora, Illinois, earned All-WIAC honors by finishing sixth individually with a time of 21:41.3. Molly Heidorn from Colfax, Wisconsin, and Bella Hooker from Kewaskum, Wisconsin, also received all-conference honors for their performances. Heidorn finished in 13th place at 22:02.3, while Hooker followed closely in 14th place with a time of 22:06.3. Hooker's performance earned her the title of WIAC Newcomer of the Year as she was the highest-finishing newcomer at the championship.
Ryann Wagner from Lena, Wisconsin, completed the race in 21st position with a time of 22:19.5 for UW-Eau Claire. Allison Weissinger from River Falls, Wisconsin, took 28th place overall clocking in at 22:34.1 to conclude scoring for the team.
This result marked the tenth consecutive season that UW-Eau Claire women have finished within the top three positions at the WIAC Championship.
Looking ahead, the Blugolds are set to compete again on Friday, November 8th at the Luther Saga Cup in Decorah, Iowa.
