University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire prepares for NCAA D3 outdoor track championships

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will send 21 student-athletes to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships. The event will be hosted by Coastal Carolina University at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, from May 23 to May 25.

This year, the UWEC team aims to improve on last year's performance when the men's team finished fifth and the women's team placed 49th. The Blugolds have increased their number of competitors, hoping for better results.

Among the men's qualifiers are Jacob Eickoff (4x400), Kevin Eisezimmer (4x400), Yakob Ekoue (Discus, Hammer, Shot Put), Stefan Klechefski (100, 4x100), Max Foland (Decathlon), Connor Jankuski (4x100), Colin McClowry (4x400), Nick Odom (4x100), Sam Piontek (4x100), Gage Stankiewicz (Shot Put), Mitch Stegeman (Decathlon), and Josiah Ziebell (400 hurdles, 4x400).

The women's qualifiers include Kayla Behnke (Discus, Hammer), Emilee Booker (Heptathlon), Ayden Fleeharty (Pole Vault), Emma Gruen (Heptathlon), Teagan Jones (Discus, Hammer), Jane Kautz (Heptathlon), Lauryn Rustad (Heptathlon), Raina Stecher (Discus, Shot Put) and Mason Shea competing in the 3000 Steeplechase.
