Five UW-Eau Claire softball players earn WIAC postseason honors

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire softball team saw five of its players receive postseason recognition from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) on Wednesday. Molly Marquardt and Kenna Strunsee were named to the All-WIAC Softball Team, while Hailey Hagedorn and Lauren Trottier received Honorable Mentions. Kaitlyn Madole was selected for the WIAC's All-Sportsmanship team.

Molly Marquardt had an impressive first year, leading her team and ranking second in the WIAC with nine home runs and a slugging percentage of .716. She also placed third in RBI's (41) and OPS (1.148), topping these categories for Eau Claire. Kenna Strunsee excelled as well, finishing second in stolen bases (28), third in runs scored (36), and fifth in batting average (.400). This marks Marquardt's first All-WIAC selection and Strunsee's second.

Hailey Hagedorn ranked among the top-5 offensive performers on her team, while Lauren Trottier concluded her debut season with a 5-4 record, leading Eau Claire in strikeouts (56) and saves (5). Both players earned their first career All-WIAC honors.
