The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire baseball team concluded its 2024 season with two losses against UW-La Crosse on Saturday at Carson Park. The Eagles won the first game 10-0 and secured a 6-3 victory in the second game.

In Game 1, the Blugolds managed only four hits and were unable to score, while the Eagles took control early with a three-run homer in the third inning. They extended their lead with additional runs in subsequent innings. Walter Johnson from Minnetonka, Minnesota, hit a double but could not spark a comeback for Eau Claire.

Game 2 saw improved performance from the Blugolds. After falling behind by three runs early, Connor Weik from Wauconda, Illinois, narrowed the gap with a two-run homer in the third inning. Despite further solo homers by UW-La Crosse in later innings, Eau Claire's rally attempt ended short with Drew Salyers contributing a sacrifice fly.

Connor Weik went 3 for 5 in Game 2, while Cade Mueller and Austin Buck each added two hits for Eau Claire. Draza Dupor started as pitcher in Game 2 and allowed three runs over three innings. Sebastian De La Toba provided relief pitching for four innings and recorded four strikeouts.

The Blugolds finished their season with an overall record of 11-29. Prior to Game 1, they honored seniors Joe Clinton, Justin Coronado, Charley Griffin, Jacob Lacy, Cade Mueller, and Ben Teigland.
