The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team participated in the Golfweek October Classic held in Sandestin, Florida. After the first round, the team secured 21st place out of 24 teams.

Owen Covey from New Richmond, Wisconsin, concluded the day with a score of 69, placing him in 17th position individually. Corey Boerner from Bloomington, Minnesota, and Luke Taebel from Holmen, Wisconsin, both ended tied for 93rd place with scores of 76. Nick Amtmann from Nashotah, Wisconsin/Arrowhead, and Ben Pausha from Delafield, Wisconsin/Kettle Moraine are tied for 97th after recording opening-round scores of 77.

The Blugolds will continue their participation on Monday, October 13th for the second round of this competitive tournament featuring several nationally ranked teams.
