The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team ended their match against UW-Stevens Point in a scoreless draw on Wednesday. The game, held at the UWSP Turf Facility, saw both teams leaving with a point each in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) standings.
Kennedy Boll and Bella Jones were instrumental in securing the shutout for the Blugolds. Jones made three saves while Boll contributed one, with each goalkeeper playing 45 minutes. UW-Eau Claire dominated in shots with an 18-9 advantage over their opponents. The Blugolds also managed five shots on goal compared to four from the Pointers. Both teams took six corner kicks but were unable to convert any into goals.
This result marks the second consecutive tie for the Blugolds in WIAC play, following a 1-1 draw against UW-Whitewater on October 5.
UW-Eau Claire will next face UW-Platteville at home on Saturday, October 12 at Simpson Field, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. The match will coincide with Parents Day celebrations.
