Jennifer Steinhorst has been appointed as the chief human resources officer at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, effective September 30. Tracy Drier, vice chancellor for finance and administration at UW-Eau Claire, highlighted Steinhorst's extensive experience both generally and within the campus community.

“I am excited to announce that Jennifer Steinhorst has accepted the chief human resources officer position, effective Monday, Sept. 30,” Drier stated. “Jen has been an invaluable part of our HR team since 2016, demonstrating leadership, dedication and a commitment to a supportive workplace. I am confident she will lead our HR initiatives to new heights and continue to enhance our campus community.”

In August, Steinhorst received the 2024 Academic Staff Excellence in Performance Award during the annual Blugold Breakfast. The nomination materials for this award praised her understanding of work-life balance and her ability to make decisions that support this balance.

Steinhorst holds a degree in human resources management from UW-Stout. She expressed her enthusiasm for leveraging her relationships on campus and with external partners to address issues and find solutions beneficial to all employees.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as UW-Eau Claire’s chief human resources officer,” Steinhorst said. “I am committed to supporting the university’s vision while enhancing employee engagement and retention. I look forward to continued collaboration with our faculty, staff and students to create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.”
