The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team commenced their 2024-25 season on Saturday with the Augsburg Fall Invite at the Majestic Oaks Golf Course in Ham Lake, Minnesota. The Blugolds concluded the first round tied for second place and maintained their position, finishing just one shot behind the leading team with a total score of 14 over par.
Corey Boerner, a senior from Bloomington, Minnesota, was the individual runner-up for the weekend. Boerner shot an even-par 72 on day one and a +2 74 on day two. Senior Nick Amtmann from Nashotah, Wisconsin, finished tied for seventh overall with a score of +7 during the invite. Junior Ben Pausha from Delafield, Wisconsin, tied for tenth with a two-round total of 152 strokes.
The Eau Claire B team secured sixth place overall and was led by sophomore transfer Blu Anderson from Amery, Wisconsin, who also tied for seventh overall.
The Blugolds will return to action on September 7th and 8th for the Minnesota Golf Classic at Pioneer Creek Golf Course in Maple Plain, Minnesota. The first round is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
