On September 1, 2024, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team hosted St. Olaf College for their home opener in Eau Claire, Wis. Despite an early goal by UWEC, St. Olaf scored twice in the second half to hand the Blugolds their first loss of the season.

The Blugolds opened the scoring when Koris Millis capitalized on a loose ball inside the 18-yard box for her first goal of the season. The defense, led by Allison Raasch and Ava Glenn, managed to maintain this lead into halftime despite pressure from St. Olaf.

In the 48th minute, UW-Eau Claire was awarded a penalty kick after an Ole defender was called for a handball inside the 18-yard box. Elise Pinewski took the shot but was denied by the St. Olaf goalkeeper.

St. Olaf equalized in the 61st minute with a curled shot from the edge of the box that went over Blugold goalkeeper Kennedy Boll. In the 77th minute, a defensive error by UWEC allowed St. Olaf to take the lead and secure their victory.

The Blugolds (1-1-0) will return to Simpson Field on Monday, September 16th for a nonconference match against Bethel University at 7:30 p.m.
