The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team has been named the winner of Blugold Athletics' Team Community Service Award for 2023-24.

The Blugold women's hockey squad regularly volunteers its time to help several causes, including in-season with local youth girls' hockey leagues. The Blugolds attend at least one youth practice each week, with each player spending at least an hour per month — often more — working with the kids and helping grow the game of hockey. With the Blugolds being visible and volunteering as much as they do, they are seeing it help increase and maintain the participation numbers in the area.

The other winners of UW-Eau Claire's end-of-year honors will be announced throughout the rest of this week.
