Rep. Derrick Van Orden expressed his dissatisfaction with President Biden's decision to recognize a day other than Easter, which he views as the most significant day in Western Christendom. According to Van Orden, this move is not merely an oversight or accident.
"There are 365 days in the year and Biden chose the High Holiest Day in Western Christendom to acknowledge something other than the resurrection of Christ," said U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-Wi), Representative, according to X. "This is not an oversight or an accident."
Van Orden's statement comes in response to the Biden administration's recent announcement acknowledging Transgender Day of Visibility, scheduled for March 31, 2024.

According to the Whitehouse.gov briefing room, U.S. President Joe Biden has announced that his administration will officially recognize Transgender Day of Visibility. Measures taken in support of this recognition include appointing transgender leaders, lifting the military ban on transgender service members, and implementing civil rights protections. The administration continues its efforts to combat discrimination and support LGBTQI+ rights, including advocating for the Equality Act and addressing laws affecting transgender youth.
Biden was quoted on Whitehouse.gov briefing room saying: "NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity."
