Altoona City - WI issued the following announcement on April 12.
BE A PART OF THE ART. The River Prairie Festival, shown here in 2018, will be making its comeback on May 7.
The sun is finally coming out so we all know what that means: festivals. The River Prairie Festival is locked in for Saturday, May 7, from 10am-4pm at Altoona's River Prairie Park, and it will be filled with family fun.
The River Prairie Festival was created to celebrate local art with live music, an artists' market, face painting, chalk art, and live mural painting. There will also be food trucks, yoga in the park, and a family dance party.
There will also be a new feature talent event: a cover song competition. The competition will start at 11am and will have rounds of singing for judges. Finalists will receive a cash prize - the top prize being $200. Singers can register for this competition at riverprairiefest.com.
"Eau Claire is often compared to other mid-size, Midwest cities when expanding businesses or new employees are considering relocating," said Luke Hanson, executive director at the Eau Claire Area Economic Development Corp. "Our community has an advantage that makes us stand out: a vibrant arts scene where people want to live, work and play."
This event is sponsored by Prevail Bank, Prevea Health, Ayres, WESTconsin Credit Union, Visit Eau Claire, the Wisconsin Arts Board, and the Eau Claire Area EDC.
