Boundary changes are coming

7

Afton-Lakeland Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.

The school board is considering 3 different options to change elementary school attendance boundaries to address growth in the southern portion of our district. As many as 700 students from across the district could be impacted in some way as we look to shift boundaries for the 2022-2023 school year.

About the boundary change options

View the initial proposals

All of the options would impact almost 180 open and alternate enrollment students. Those students will be assigned to the school within their attendance area and would have to re-apply for open and alternate enrollment based on availability.

  • Option A would also impact about 200 students from Lake Elmo Elementary by moving them to either Brookview or Rutherford.
  • Option B would also impact more than 500 students by moving them from Andersen, Afton-Lakeland, Lake Elmo and Lily Lake.
  • Option C would also impact about 400 students by moving them from Lake Elmo, Lily Lake and Rutherford.
