Tomahawk Live Trap credits MOC partnership for significant growth
In 2012, a project manager from the Manufacturing Outreach Center (MOC) contacted Tomahawk Live Trap’s (TLT) owner, Greg Smith. At that time, Smith described TLT’s business as stagnant and not growing. During a tour of TLT’s facility, the project manager identified several inefficiencies in their processes. The atmosphere at TLT prior to MOC involvement was described as conflicting and demanding.

Adam Accola named joint director for economic development in Dunn County
Adam Accola has been appointed as the first joint director of economic development in Dunn County. The position was established earlier this year through a collaboration between the county, City of Menomonie, and UW-Stout. Additional support came from the Dunn County Economic Development Corporation, Greater Menomonie Development Corporation, and Stout Technology and Business Park. These six entities signed a memorandum of agreement to provide funding for the role.

University secures $8.1M grant for vocational rehabilitation program
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded $251 million in Disability Innovation Fund (DIF) grants to 27 organizations across the nation, supporting efforts to ensure individuals with disabilities have access to competitive integrated employment (CIE) and well-paying jobs in the 21st century. The University of Wisconsin-Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute (SVRI) is honored to be one of the grantees, receiving $8.1 million over the next five years to implement the Accelerated VR Training and Capacity Building Program.
