St. Catherine University defeated the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds 2-0 in a soccer match held Tuesday at Simpson Field in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. St. Catherine scored once in each half to secure the win.

The first half saw both teams focusing on defense, with UW-Eau Claire's goalkeeper Bella Jones making several saves, including attempts by Jaidyn Richter and Bella Meier from St. Catherine. On offense, Emma Donovan and Mikalyn Hidde challenged St. Catherine's goalkeeper Brianna Valdez but were unable to score.

The scoring opened late in the first half when Emily Olson of St. Catherine found the net in the 44th minute with an assist from Emily Henaman, giving her team a 1-0 lead at halftime.

After the break, UW-Eau Claire attempted to gain momentum with Emma Donovan forcing a save from Valdez early in the second half. Bella Jones continued to make important stops for the Blugolds against shots by Richter and Lydia Benson of St. Catherine. However, Charlotte Willems added a second goal for St. Catherine in the 64th minute, assisted by Bella Meier.

UW-Eau Claire kept pressing forward throughout the remainder of the game, including an effort by Ava Glenn that was saved by Valdez late in the match. Despite their efforts and a total of six shots on goal during the game, UW-Eau Claire could not reduce the deficit.

Bella Jones finished with nine saves for UW-Eau Claire—six coming after halftime—while Mikalyn Hidde led her team with three shots (two on target). Emma Donovan also had three shots (two on goal), and Ava Glenn contributed two shots (one on target).

With this result, UW-Eau Claire's record moves to 1-6-2 overall for the season. St. Catherine improves to 7-1-0 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 2-0-0.
