The University of Wisconsin Madison's Division of Extension family educators will offer an online course titled "Raising a Thinking Child" this spring. The six-session program aims to enhance decision-making and communication skills in children aged 4-7, focusing on problem-solving, understanding feelings, and considering consequences.

The course is designed for both adults and children, with assignments to complete between sessions. A previous attendee noted, “I can see my son problem solving more and being able to think things through. I believe I am more open minded and thinking before I react as well.” Another participant praised the program as “excellent with a lot of helpful resources, effective tips and strategies and well organized by the two instructors.”

The sessions will be held weekly from March 11 to April 15, with options for morning (9-10:15 a.m.) or evening (6-7:15 p.m.) classes. Barron and Dunn County residents can attend for free and collect materials at their local Extension Office. Others may pay $25 for shipping if unable to pick up materials. For shipping inquiries, contact Missy Bablick at 715-788-6217.

Registration is open until March 3 via https://go.wisc.edu/Y30451. Participants will receive details and Zoom links by email before the course begins. For further information, Luisa Gerasimo can be contacted at 715-232-1636 or luisa.gerasimo@wisc.edu.
