The Sonnentag will hold its first commencement ceremonies on December 21, where 659 students from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UW-Eau Claire) will graduate in two separate events at the new facility.

Among the graduating students is Nathan Donovan, a biology major. Recalling his childhood experiences of doing homework during long car rides to soccer practices, Donovan learned from his parents that dedication to both academics and athletics could help him achieve his dreams. On December 21, he will graduate after 3.5 years with a GPA of 3.88, earning a bachelor's degree in biology and a preprofessional health science minor. He plans to apply to medical school following graduation. In sports, Donovan has been recognized as the 2024 NCAA Division III national soccer player of the year and scholar-athlete of the year and is also a two-time All-American.

Kaitlyn Riehle is another notable graduate this month with a marketing degree from UW-Eau Claire's College of Business (COB). She has actively supported small businesses as a student consultant and led one student organization while founding another within COB. These hands-on experiences have equipped her for success in her business career.

Jeremiah Coey will be among the first graduates of UW-Eau Claire’s new professional studies major that began this fall. His journey from high school dropout to college graduate serves as an inspiring story.

Marnie Britton chose UW-Eau Claire for its RN to BSN completion program because it provided her with an opportunity to enhance her skills as an emergency room nurse while maintaining flexibility for further education alongside full-time work. Her community outreach efforts earned her recognition as the 2024 Future Nurse Leader by the Wisconsin Nurses Association.

Additionally, seven alumni and friends of UW-Eau Claire will receive awards from the Alumni Association on Friday, December 20.
