FOIA Request to Town of East Troy Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at Chippewa Valley Times have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of East Troy. The request was sent on November 7, 2024, and seeks information about new voter registrations that occurred on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe access to public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We requested these records preferably in electronic format for ease of access and analysis. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
