A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Hammond on November 7, 2024. The request, issued by us at Chippewa Valley Times, seeks information about new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe in the importance of transparency and accountability. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and we have expressed a preference for receiving the data in an electronic format. We have also requested a fee waiver given our role as a media organization disseminating information to the public.
