FOIA Request to Village of Ridgeland Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Chippewa Valley Times have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
Our request was sent in electronic format for ease of response and review. We look forward to working with the Village of Ridgeland in their timely response to this request as we continue our work in promoting transparency and accountability within our local government.
