Five Blugolds earn All-America honors at NCAA Championships

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's track and field teams participated in the second day of the 2024 NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Five athletes from UW-Eau Claire earned All-America honors on Friday.

Raina Stecher achieved a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 14.21 meters, finishing eighth and earning her first All-America honor. Emilee Booker also secured her first career All-America honor by scoring 4770 points in the women's Heptathlon, which placed her fifth on the podium.

In the men's Decathlon, Mitch Stegeman led after strong performances in discus, pole vault, and javelin events but ultimately finished second overall, securing his seventh All-America honor. Max Foland moved up to fourth place with a career-best score of 6841 points, earning his third All-America accolade.

Stefan Klechefski advanced to Saturday's finals in the 100m dash with an eighth-place finish at a time of 10.48 seconds. Mason Shea finished sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase finals with a time of 9:04.71, marking his third career All-America honor.

The final day of competition is scheduled for Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
