Blugold women's tennis team starts season at Warhawk Invitational

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team commenced their season on Saturday at the Warhawk Invitational, hosted by UW-Whitewater. The Blugolds accumulated 26 team points, securing fourth place out of eight teams.

Samantha Fuchs (Sr. – DeForest, Wis.) achieved third place in #1 Singles. Anna Lee (Sr. – Buffalo, Minn.) emerged as the consolation champion in #2 Singles, while Beatriz Felchak (Fr. – Curitiba, Brazil) also won the consolation bracket in #3 Singles. In doubles play, Morgan Dekan (Sr. – Altoona, Wis.) and Live Herzog (Jr. – Owatonna, Minn.) finished fourth in #1 Doubles. Reese Burton (Fr. – Lakeville, Minn.) and Ana Paula Ricaurte (Fr. – Guayaquil, Ecuador) secured seventh place in #2 Doubles. Aubrey Witter (Fr. – Delano, Minn.) and Tea Armstrong (Sr. – Blue Earth, Minn.) took third place in #3 Doubles.

Next on their schedule is a match against UW-River Falls as part of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play on Saturday, September 7th at Ramer Field Tennis Courts with first serves slated for 10 a.m.
