Hello City of Eau Claire residents, staff, and Council Members,

I'm writing to share news from the City of Eau Claire. We are using a new format to send news out. Prior updates can be found here.  Take a look at our weekly newsletter to stay on top of what we are working on. Pass it along to friends who can sign up for different City updates here. We welcome you at Council Meetings, Neighborhood Association Meetings, Library Events, and anywhere else that City work takes place. Bear with us as we work out any kinks of this new approach! Also, feel free to send me feedback.

CITY UPDATES: Here’s some news from around the city.

Cannery District Construction: Our Parks Manager, Steve Plaza, shared this update on what’s happening with the construction of Cannery Park, which is in the “Cannery” neighborhood, close to the Children’s Theater, High Bridge, and the Brewing Projekt: “Cannery Park has been seeing a transformation this past month. Contractors have been grading the sledding hill, playground area, open spaces, and skatepark. The restroom has been framed and its inside painted, and it is now visible if you take a tour in that area. The ADA walkway next to the Madison Street Bridge has been staked, as has the walkway and canoe slide to a scenic viewpoint. Footing is being prepared so that concrete can be poured for the stairs and the sign. The completion of the park is scheduled for early summer 2024. Market and Johnson is the General Contractor for the project, and Cory Tietz is the City’s Project Manager for the park construction.”
