CITY OF EAU CLAIRE: City Council Resolution Supporting the Wearing of Masks During COVID-19 Pandemic

Facemask

City of Eau Claire issued the following announcement on July 15

During its Legislative Meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, the City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution supporting and encouraging the wearing of masks in the City of Eau Claire during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This resolution does not require the wearing of masks.

The statement reads as follows:

Today we wear our masks for you with the hope that you will do the same for this community and those you love.

For today we are faced with the task of slowing the spread of COVID-19 and the challenge of a potential second economic shutdown in our community.

Together, with the wearing of masks and physical distancing, we can prevent another shutdown.

Together, with the wearing of masks and physical distancing, we can make a difference to the health and welfare of our families, friends, and co-workers.

Together, with the wearing of masks and physical distancing, we can show our support to our local businesses.

Together, with the wearing of masks and physical distancing, we can lift each other up and help slow the spread of COVID-19.

This is the time that we all stand together, Eau Claire, and agree to wear the mask for each other.
