Saint Benedict secured a 1-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in women's soccer on Saturday at Simpson Field. The match's only goal was scored by Elly Prairie in the 25th minute, assisted by Regan Melz, putting Saint Benedict ahead for the remainder of the game.
UW-Eau Claire started with aggressive offensive play, recording several shots early in the first half from Emma Donovan and Abby Nordquist. Magnolia Millar Bruzek also contributed with a shot on goal in the 25th minute. Despite these efforts, Saint Benedict's defense held firm.
In goal for UW-Eau Claire, Bella Jones made six saves during the match. She stopped multiple attempts throughout both halves, including a key save against Emma Johnson in the second half.
