FOIA Request to Village of Downing Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Chippewa Valley Times have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Village of Downing. The request was sent on November 7, 2024.
Our request specifically asks for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is crucial as it allows us to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage about voter registration trends and patterns in the lead up to the election.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we believe access to such records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities.
