FOIA Request to Town of Greenbush Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Chippewa Valley Times have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Greenbush.
Our request specifically asks for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that as media professionals engaged in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver. This request is part of our continued efforts to ensure transparency in our democratic processes and uphold accountability within our public institutions.
