FOIA Request to Town of Woodmohr Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
On November 7, 2024, we at the Chippewa Valley Times submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Woodmohr. The request specifically sought information about new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We believe that as media professionals involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver. This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure that information about important civic processes like voter registration is accessible and transparent.
