FOIA Request to City of Hudson Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at Chippewa Valley Times have sent a formal request to the City of Hudson under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. The request was made on November 7, 2024.
The records requested pertain specifically to new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024. We believe that access to these public records is essential for comprehensive and accurate news coverage.
As a media organization dedicated to reporting news to the public, we underscored the importance of these records in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
We also highlighted our eligibility for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating information.
We await the response from the City of Hudson and will continue to strive for transparency and accountability in all aspects of local government affairs.
