Scarlett Johnson, a member of the parental rights group Moms for Liberty, has expressed concerns about the promotion of "gender ideology" and similar concepts in schools in River Falls, Wisconsin. Johnson stated, "River Falls, Wisconsin: LGBTQIA+ Identity focused materials are everywhere. Trans ideology/gender identity nonsense is deeply imbedded into every facet of public education. It's a virus."

Johnson's concerns were sparked by reports and photographs of bulletin boards in an unidentified school in River Falls. The bulletin boards displayed inclusive language and explanations of terms related to gender and sexuality. The photos were initially shared on the platform X by the group "Libs of Tiktok."

Johnson took to the platform X to express her disbelief and disappointment, stating, "Too many Elementary/Middle School classrooms in Wisconsin schools look like this thanks to Wisconsin DPI & their partnerships w/ GLSEN, Safe Zone Project, Trevor Project, Gender Spectrum, Advocates for Youth...& Many activist organizations that use schools as recruitment centers."

The bulletin board in question featured terms such as "LGBTQ+," "gender," "pronouns," "bisexual," and "transgender," along with their respective definitions. The display also included a "Rainbow Library" section, listing book titles featuring "LGBTQ+ characters, history, and themes" for children. Some of the listed books were "Beyond the Gender Binary," "The Heart Break Bakery," and "Ace of Spades."

The Trevor Project and GLSEN, two prominent "LGBTQ" non-profit organizations, focus on providing support to "LGBTQ" youth, particularly within educational settings. Their goals include preventing suicide among "LGBTQ" individuals by offering various forms of support.

Moms for Liberty, co-founded by Tina Descovich and Tiffany Justice in Melbourne, Florida in 2021, is recognized for its conservative stance. The organization's mission is to "fight for the survival of America by unifying, educating, and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government." Since its inception, Moms for Liberty has grown to have 285 chapters across 45 states, with over 115,000 members nationwide.
