The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recently announced its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, recognizing students for their exceptional performances. Ethan Wurtzel from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire received the title for men’s tennis for the week covering April 14 to April 20. The selection was made by an anonymous vote among the WIAC head coaches.

Wurtzel, a senior from Menomonie, Wisconsin, had an impressive week, winning two No. 1 singles matches. On April 17, he defeated Tyler Schneider from UW-La Crosse with scores of 7-6, 5-7, 6-3, ensuring a 4-3 dual victory for his team. Wurtzel’s performance continued on April 19 when he won against Hamline University’s Rumeal Setts in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, contributing to the Blugolds’ 7-0 dual win.
