UW-Eau Claire women’s tennis team secures 7-0 win over Shippensburg University

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over Shippensburg University on March 17 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Blugolds won both doubles and singles matches, controlling the competition throughout the morning.

This result highlights the team’s strong performance as they took two out of three doubles matches to gain an early lead. Reese Burton and Beatriz Felchak secured a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while Marin Catencamp and Morgan Briggman won their No. 3 match with a score of 6-1.

In singles play, Eau Claire swept all six courts in straight sets. Burton led at No. 1 with a 6-3, 6-2 win, followed by Felchak’s victory at No. 2. Aubrey Wittwer claimed a decisive win at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1), Ana Paula Ricaurte won at No. 4 (6-2, 6-1), Delaney Hanson took the No. 5 spot (6-2, 6-2), and Briggman completed the sweep with a dominant performance at No. 6 (6-1, 6-0).

The Blugolds are scheduled to face Trinity College and Webster University on March 18 in back-to-back matches starting at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
