The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire volleyball team has received several honors from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) following a strong season. Sophomore Kaitlyn Erickson was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Alex Kiebel earned Newcomer of the Year recognition for their contributions during conference play.
Three UW-Eau Claire players were selected for the All-WIAC First Team. Additional Blugolds received All-WIAC Honorable Mention and All-Defensive Team accolades. Hanne Johnson was recognized on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Kaitlyn Erickson’s performance as a defender and libero stood out in the league. She was named to both the All-WIAC First Team and WIAC All-Defensive Team, in addition to being selected as Defensive Player of the Year. Erickson led all players in digs per set with 10.62 and committed only five reception errors over the season, helping limit opposing offenses to a .169 attack rate—third best in the conference. This is her first time receiving these three distinctions.
Bailey Leeke made her second appearance on the All-WIAC First Team after previously being named in 2024. Leeke finished fourth in total kills with 336 and ranked seventh in hitting percentage at .281 within the conference. She reached 1,000 career kills on October 17, tied for team lead in attack rate, recorded two double-doubles this season, and had more than 12 kills in 14 matches. Leeke was also an Offensive Player of the Year finalist.
Abby Stanwood was another finalist for Offensive Player of the Year and made her first appearance on the All-WIAC First Team. Stanwood led UW-Eau Claire with 429 kills during regular season play, ranking second overall in conference kills. She also posted 11 double-doubles, including two streaks where she achieved at least ten kills and ten digs over three consecutive games.
Junior Mya Cinnamo received All-WIAC Honorable Mention for a second time in her career, ranking third on her team with 272 kills and ninth overall in successful attacks during WIAC competition with 71.
Hanne Johnson was selected to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team for showing leadership and sportsmanship throughout the year.
UW-Eau Claire will host UW-La Crosse tonight at The Sonnentag Event Center for a WIAC Tournament Semifinals match scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
