Three members of the UW-Eau Claire women’s volleyball team have been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as part of its 2025 Division III Women’s Volleyball All-Region selections. Bailey Leeke, Abby Stanwood, and Alek Kiebel were all named to the Region 8 lists, representing their achievements among 200 student-athletes from 96 schools.

Bailey Leeke received her second consecutive All-Region honor after being selected for the Region 8 first team in 2024. According to AVCA, “The Blugold senior is second on the team in kills, kills per set, and points per set. Leeke finished the regular season and conference postseason 8th overall in the WIAC in hitting percentage and 4th overall in total kills and total points. Leeke’s posted a season high 25 kills against Coe College back in early October and is coming off back-to-back 20+ kill games against UW-Oshkosh. On October 17, Leeke surpassed 1,000 career kills against Illinois Wesleyan, becoming the 17th Blugold in program history to reach to milestone.”

Abby Stanwood was named to the Region 8 first team for her first career All-Region recognition. The AVCA stated: “Among all Division III athletes, Stanwood currently ranks 11th overall in total kills, 20th overall in kills per set, and 24th overall in points per set. The senior is posting single season career high across the board and currently leads the Blugolds in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set. During the October weekend at Hope College, Stanwood posted three straight double-doubles, earning her AVCA Division III Player of the Week, and has tallied 12 total games this season with 10+ kills and digs.”

Freshman Alek Kiebel was recognized with an honorable mention for Region 8 All-Region honors as well as being named Region 8 Freshman of the Year. As described by AVCA: “Kiebel currently ranks 40th overall in Division III in total assists and finished the regular season and conference postseason ranked second in the WIAC and first on the team in total assists, assists per set, and service aces. Dominant rookie seasons are nothing new are at UW-Eau Claire as Kaitlyn Erickson was named the 2024 Region 8 Freshman of the Year in 2024.”
