Max Gutjahr, a member of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s hockey team, has been named the Men’s Hockey Player of the Week by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The announcement was made for the week of November 17 to 23.

The selection is based on an anonymous vote conducted among WIAC head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

Gutjahr contributed to two victories for UW-Eau Claire as they started their WIAC season. On November 21, he recorded a shutout against No. 14-ranked UW-Superior with 20 saves. He then achieved another win on November 22 against UW-Stout, making 22 saves. This marked his second shutout of the season.

So far this year, Gutjahr holds a record of three wins, two losses, and one tie. He currently leads all WIAC goaltenders in both save percentage (.942) and goals against average (1.48).
