The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men’s and women’s cross country teams have secured at-large berths to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. The announcement was made on Sunday, following the teams’ performances at the NCAA Regional meet.
This marks the second consecutive year that the men’s team will compete in the national championship. The women’s team returns to the event for the first time since 2023.
At Saturday’s NCAA Regional, the men’s team finished sixth. Senior Jack Hesse-Withbroe has led the program this season, finishing 10th at regionals and earning a collegiate best with a third-place finish at the WIAC Championship.
The women’s team placed third at regionals. Junior Molly Heidorn has been leading recent efforts, finishing third at regionals and winning the WIAC Championship with her best collegiate time.
In their previous appearances, UW-Eau Claire’s men finished 19th in 2024, while the women placed 15th in 2023.
The NCAA Championships will take place on Saturday, November 22, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The men’s race is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET and the women’s race for noon ET.
