Kyla Overskei named WIAC women’s basketball player of the week

Kyla Overskei from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) for her performance during the week of November 17-23. The selection was made through an anonymous vote by WIAC head coaches and Sports Information Directors.

Overskei contributed to two victories for the Blugolds, helping defeat both the College of St. Scholastica and Simpson College. She set a personal single-game record with 32 points against St. Scholastica, shooting 57.1 percent from the field in that game. Over both games, she averaged 28.5 points and shot 48.8 percent overall.

Overskei also made five three-pointers in each game and converted all five of her free throw attempts. She averaged four rebounds per game and added three assists across both contests. Notably, she did not record any turnovers during her career-best performance against St. Scholastica.
