University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s women’s lacrosse team will see a change in leadership, as announced by the university’s Director of Athletics, Jason Verdugo. Michael Rhodovi has been dismissed from his position as head coach.

Courtney Puhl, an assistant coach with two years of experience in the program, will step into the role of interim head coach for the rest of the season.

The university plans to initiate a search for a new head coach at the close of the season. The Blugolds are set to play two more regular-season games before participating in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament in May. The team could have the chance to host the conference tournament by defeating UW-La Crosse on April 23, thereby becoming the highest-ranking Wisconsin team in the WIAC standings.
